A recent graduate of the Danish Design institute of TEKO, Kristina Schâuble definitely experiments with jersey draping. Honestly, Its her campaign that struck me. It speaks to the graphic designer in me...I couldn't even focus on the clothes initially. She does have some interesting pieces however:

This week I discovered An Realage. Their experimentation with unconventional geometric shapes and draping is spellbinding! The work is so beyond words, I'm just going to hush up and show images from their A/W 09 installation.

and was immediately compelled to investigate the amazing label that is J'ATON. Turns out this couture house has a double dosage of genius in Jacob Luppino and Anthony Pittorino. The best friends met at Melbourne Fashion College in 1989 and since the conception of J'aton, have graced the bods of starlets such as Nicole Kidman, Delta Goodrem and the Minogue sisters. Initially famed for their impeccable wedding gowns, their growth as a brand is evident in recent collections. The collection presented at the Spring 09 Melbourne Fashion Week was filled with glorious prints, architectural metallics, and most importantly, figure flattering creations that would make any woman feel and look sensational.

I PROMISE it's not the hair, or complexion, or the fact that she's foreign...or has an edgy yet soulful sound...or is also a singer/songwriter/producer...okay, the similarities play an ever so slight role, but shes just all around AWESOME. Laura Izibor is whom I speak of. She's an Irish import and happens to be bringing a better sound than what we hear from domestics with exposure these days. I for one am excited to see where she grows from here. I have some crazy love affair with Soul singers from the UK...Adele, Amy Winehouse, Natasha Bedingfield, Duffy, Corinne Bailey Rae and now I can add Laura Izibor!

In other news: You ever get that feeling...like there's about to be some sort of shift in life?? And you can't quite put your finger on exactly what that shift will pertain to...all you can really gauge is that it'll be significant??? I'm so there right now. The funny thing is I'm more keen to distractions now...I can immediately recognize what (or who) could deter my next few steps from being successful...if I so allow it. So my hope is to have something exciting to report super soon...but we'll see how God has it all play out :)

My mind has been on fire with fall fashion inspiration. What pieces too add to my wardrobe, what to create...its all just been swirling around up there. I stumbled across this awesome label, GROA and can't seem to get enough. It has such a magical yet grounded feel... like "Princess All Grown Up". I'm definitely looking forward to August when pieces hit the stores :)

Got Sir Elton John on the brain lately. It may have something to do with the whole MJ thing. Those two along with Billy Joel, Janis Joplin and Lauryn Hill are the main influences for how I developed as a writer... Mike Jack kinda made me stop and reflect on all of that.
So I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting kinda bored with the whole "outfit pic" ordeal. I mean, it really doesn't take much to convince me to take a picture, but there's just so much more to life, lol. I'm planning to be in the studio a lot, so I will definitely be getting video footage of it all and posting here. I'm probably the only person on Earth without a Flip cam...so I guess I'll cop one of those tomorrow, and make sure its handy at all times :)
Really can't wait for you guys to meet my team, and my closest homies, and the random folks I run into on a daily basis, Lol.
