How to Attach Stair Runners

The runner is carpeting that runs down the middle of the stairs serves a purpose, which prevents and both aesthetically wear to the tree of the stairs. There are three ways for fastening a runner to a staircasetacking the runner down with blanket staples, using double-stick carpet tape, or using tackles strips.

Tape two 2-inch pieces of seamless strip together with the pins facing inwards to make a spacer. Make two spacers. Cut the seamless strips using a scissors. Mark where the edges of padding and runner will be in each treads with a pencil. This will keep your length of the stairs. Place spacers on the tread on pencil rails for padding on spacers with the legs pointing downwards and the side that is smooth to the riser and place a section of smooth strip. Sew to riser to repeat at each step.
